The men suspected of killing Young Dolph have been captured. As TMZ reports, Justin Johnson was apprehended by U.S. Marshals Officers on Tuesday (January 11) in Indiana following a manhunt. The 23-year-old had previously announced plans to turn himself in on Monday (January 10), but he didn't end up following through and instead released a new music video under his hip-hop moniker Straight Drop. Johnson's maintained his innocence via social media, where he wrote "I’m Innocent I’ll Be Back Sooner Than You Can Blink."
Johnson faces charges of first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder and theft of property between $10,000 and $60,000. He also has alleged ties to organized criminal gangs.
A second suspect, 32-year-old Cornelius Smith, was also booked on a first-degree murder charge on Tuesday, but it's unclear if U.S. Marshals or Memphis PD arrested him.
Young Dolph was shot dead in broad daylight at Makeda’s Homemade Butter Cookies in his hometown of Memphis in November after two gunmen pulled up to the bakery and jumped out of a white Mercedes, went up to the window and opened fire. Just three days after the shooting, Memphis Police found the getaway car in Orange Mound neighborhood of Southeast Memphis. Young Dolph was 36 years old.
