In March of 2022, the first of The Hunger Games movie turned 10 years old. In a recent interview, the star of the action/sci-fi film franchise Jennifer Lawrence spoke out about her experience after the series catapulted her to mainstream success.

"I think I lost a sense of control. Between The Hunger Games coming out and winning the Oscar [for 2012’s Silver Lining Playbook], I became such a commodity that I felt like every decision was a big, big group decision," she said at the London Film Festival's "Screen Talk" series while promoting her new movie Causeway. "When I reflect now, I can’t think of those following years, [because there was] just a loss of control.”

Lawrence also admitted she still hasn't processed winning an Academy Award at the age of 22. "I keep thinking 'when will it hit me?' I don't think it ever will."

Her personal life made headlines recently as she and husband Cooke Maroney welcomed their first child, a baby boy named Cy, in February. In her October 2022 Vogue cover story she opened up about some of her fears surrounding motherhood.

"It's so scary to talk about motherhood. Only because it's so different for everybody," she said. "If I say, 'It was amazing from the start,' some people will think, 'It wasn't amazing for me at first,' and feel bad. Fortunately, I have so many girlfriends who were honest. Who were like, 'It's scary. You might not connect right away. You might not fall in love right away.' So I felt so prepared to be forgiving."
