As Louis Tomlinson gears up to release his upcoming sophomore album, Faith in the Future, the former One Direction member has shared a new single. "Silver Tongues" features Tomlinson flirting with a pop-punk sound. The track starts off with a piano as he sings over it, "Gettin' high on the amber wave/ Going deep for the ones who do the same/ Air max's and silver tongues/ Settle in for another heavy one."
The song soon picks up its pace and turns into a heartfelt pop-punk track with driving drums and guitar. "You know it's times like these/ We're so much happier/ Nights like these/ We'll remember those stupid jokеs," Tomlinson sings on the chorus.
"Silver Tongues" is the third single from Faith in the Future, following the lead single "Bigger Than Me" and "Out Of My System" which were released earlier this fall. In an Instagram post, Tomlinson explained, "After living with this album for a while I canāt wait for you all to hear it. Thank you for allowing me to make the music I want to make.ā
Faith in the Future drops Friday, November 11th. In 2023, Tomlinson will hit the road in support of the album with a European and UK tour. According to NME, the album was produced by Mike Crossey who's known for his work with bands like Arctic Monkeys, The 1975, and Wolf Alice.
