It was a sad day in Hip-Hop as one-third of the Migos was laid to rest in his hometown.

On Friday, November 11, Quavo, Offset, Cardi B, Drake, their celebrity friends and hundreds of fans gathered at the State Farm Arena to attend Takeoff’s funeral. After Pastor Jesse Curney III of New Mercies Christian Church delivered the Eulogy, there were touching performances from Justin Bieber, Yolanda Adams, Byron Cage, Chloe Bailey, and the New Mercies Choir. During the beautiful service, Quavious “Quavo” Marshall, Kiari “Offset” Cephus, Pierre “P” Thomas, and Kevin “Coach K” Lee all took turns speaking about the late rapper, who was born Kirsnik Khari Ball.

“After I made the first move, you always followed up right behind me," Quavo reportedly said during the service. "You always waited for me to do it first so you could do it right with me. You never competed with me, we was always on the same team because you hated plotting against me because I always played too hard or too rough."

“[Takeoff] changed the culture of music forever,” Offset said in between sobs. “You changed that flow. That flow came from Take, the originator. The originator of that flow. He changed the music.”

During the ceremony, Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens stood at the podium and preached about Takeoff’s everlasting impact on Atlanta's music scene. He also presented Takeoff's family with the prestigious Phoenix Award, which is the city's highest award. In addition to Takeoff’s inner circle, other celebrities who have worked with Takeoff were also in attendance like Gucci Mane, City Girls, Rich The Kid, Cee-Lo Green, Russell Simmons, Murda Beatz, Mustard, YG, Lil Yachty and Teyana Taylor. Drake, who paid homage to the rapper shortly after he passed, also spoke at the funeral while Cardi B honored him afterwards.

"Takeoff, your untimely passing has brought a great deal of pain and sorrow to so many lives," she began. "The impact you had in this world was so considerable and we have struggled to grasp this tragedy. I am heartbroken but I am grateful for all the precious memories we got to share while you were here with us. This has truly been a nightmare and the pain is incomparable. The emptiness your brothers are feeling is unbearable and I pray that you give Offset ,Quavo, and your friends and family the strength to keep going as they are trying to cope with this loss."

After the funeral, Quavo posted an open letter to his late nephew along with childhood photos of them together. See what he said say below plus other tributes from QC's P, Lil Kim and more. Rest in peace, Takeoff.
