Travis Scott might be facing more legal issues in the near future following his alleged violent behavior at a nightclub in New York City.
According to a report TMZ published on Friday, March 3, the Houston native is being accused of grabbing a fan's phone and chucking it at his head. In a video that shows the moments before the alleged incident, we can see Scott at the helm of the DJ booth while a fan recording. His facial expression changed once he realized the fan was getting too close for comfort. That's when we see Scott reach for the phone.
The video gets fuzzy after that but the fan alleges Scott threw the phone so hard that it hit him in the face and caused the screen to shatter. The man said someone representing Nebula offered to give his table a free bottle of liquor afterward, but he declined. He also said that he plans to file a police report and a civil lawsuit against Scott.
Travis Scott's interaction with the unnamed fan happened just minutes before he allegedly pummeled a sound engineer during his surprise appearance at Don Toliver's party at Nebula nightclub near Bryant Park. The man, known only as "Mark," was hospitalized after he sustained injuries from the alleged altercation. Mark claimed that Scott punched him in the head after he tried to tell the rapper a second time to lower the music due to the distortion in the speakers. He told FOX 5 that he's currently experiencing neck issues and potential nerve damage.
In addition to Mark's injuries, Scott also allegedly caused $12,000 worth of damage to video and sound equipment. In a separate video TMZ posted, we can see a damaged set of speakers. The artist, who's reportedly expected to release new music this summer, is currently being investigated for assault and criminal mischief. His lawyer recently said the situation is a "misunderstanding being blown out of proportion."
