Ne-Yo debuted a brand new song during his first-ever "Tiny Desk" performance.
The Grammy award-winning singer recently made his grand debut on NPR's "Tiny Desk" and shut it down with all of his classics from "So Sick" to "Miss Independent." During the show, Ne-Yo and his band rocked all-white ensembles as they performed a slew of hits like "Because of You" and "Sexy Love." He also performed his version of songs he wrote like Rihanna's "Take a Bow," Mario's "Let Me Love You" and Beyoncé's "Irreplaceable." Toward the end of his set, Ne-Yo premiered his next single "Two Million Secrets."
"This song took a little a bit of growth on my part to even write, even more to sing," Ne-Yo explained. "This song is basically about owning your s**t. That's the best way I can put it. Nobody is above mistakes. Nobody is above redemption and you do better and keep pushing."
Ne-Yo also declared "Two Million Secrets" is more of a "confessional" than a song. In it, he owns up to the mistake he made in the past and apologizes to the woman he loved for hurting her. He doesn't exactly spell out her name in the song, but it's possible he's speaking to his ex-wife Crystal Renay.
Ne-Yo and Renay finalized their divorce last year after she claimed the singer had a child with another woman outside of their marriage. Since then, Ne-Yo moved on and made headlines after he entered a relationship with two other women. Nonetheless, this song proves he's sympathetic towards his former spouse.
