Kesha Sets Body Shamers Straight With Powerful Message: 'Hate Me Harder'

Kesha clapped back at body shamers on Sunday (July 7) after receiving multiple comments regarding her shape. The "C'Mon" star revealed her true feelings in a message shared to X, assuring haters that she loved her body despite their opinions.

"I didn’t think in 2024 people still body shamed but. i am so proud of my body. she’s been through a lot. she’s torn her acl on stage and finished the show. she’s held my f***ing broken heart together."

The artist continued, stating that hate she's received from body shamers over the years has done nothing but add fuel to an already powerful fire.

"To those who think you’re shaming me, you’re actually making me feel very powerful. so, to you, i hope you one day feel whole enough to not tear other women down. in the mean time, hate me harder b****:)"

The confident queen included two photos of herself in a bikini to enforce the overwhelming sense of self-love that she possesses, and to show just how far she's come in cultivating a positive body image. In 2017, Kesha got candid with Rolling Stone about overcoming an eating disorder, recalling anxiety and anger amid recovery.

"Finally I was like, ‘F***. This. S***. F*** this s***. I’m hungry!’ And I am so anxious that I feel like I’m going to explode from all the secrets. All the secret times I’m pretending to eat or other times I’m purging, and I’m trying to not let anybody know. And I’m just f***ing sick of this s***. And I remember just shaking because I was so fed up, so anxious, and I was just mad that I had let myself get to that point.”

The "Woman" hitmaker is slated to perform at a Lollapolloza after party on July 31st, ahead of a main-stage set on August 1st.
