The Covid-19 pandemic may have left a significant impact on the world's collective mental state after the fact.
The WHO published a report claiming the pandemic has resulted in a marked increase globally in mental health problems, including a 25 per cent increase in depression and anxiety.
Naturopath and wellness expert Erin O'Hara says the stressful environment created by the virus and lockdowns had a severe impact on people, especially younger ones.
"There's very little or no improvement in mental well-being in New Zealand, actually a deterioration. One of the biggest things with our New Zealand healthcare system is that we are throwing more money at it, and yet we're not getting the results."
