Speaker 1 (00:03):
Welcome to Before Breakfast, a production of I Heart Radio.
Good Morning, This is Laura. Welcome to the Before Breakfast podcast.
Today's tip is to make an anytime fun list. Get
creative and write down ideas for fun you can have
any day. Then when you're wondering what to do with

(00:25):
your Saturday or a suddenly free weekday afternoon, you'll have
options and you won't have to waste your free time brainstorming.
So maybe you have noticed this not so fun truth.
It is hard to come up with fun things to
do on command. This is why we often end up
doing the same old, same old. You can probably name

(00:47):
your personal same old, same old, and your families maybe
social media, tidying up, snacking for you, maybe TV or
movies for your family. All those things can be great,
but it's easy to find yourself feeling bored or in
a rutt doing the same things all the time. And
any time fun list helps you change things up. You

(01:09):
can enjoy yourself in new ways, and any time fun
list is more important now than ever. You may be
having less big fun now than usual, less travel, fewer parties.
Don't get discouraged because some things you'd like to do
aren't possible. Instead, use an any time fun list to
make the most of what is available to you right now.

(01:32):
I bet you can think of dozens of fun things
you'd like to do sometime if you put your mind
to it. Watch a documentary about your favorite restaurant, plant
mums in your front yard, design your holiday card, call
your college roommate, bake a plum cake, go for a
long bike ride. Ask your family to add to the list,
and they will probably have ideas. To have a tea

(01:54):
party with the stuffed animals, have a picnic on the
flat roof above the porch, roast shmell is in the
fire puit, have an outdoor movie night, hold an una tournament.
The possibilities are endless. You could challenge yourself and your
family members or roommates to come up with twenty items each,
compile in any time fun list from all your ideas,

(02:17):
and put it somewhere prominent, like the fridge. Then, any
time you're looking for something fun to do consulted. You
could even post your anytime fun list on social media.
Maybe you'll have friends join in to brainstorm ideas or
to join in your fun. Posting intentions creates a sort
of accountability too. If numerous people ask whether you've planted

(02:41):
those moms yet, you'll be reminded that you do want
to do that and feel nudged to go buy some.
We sometimes tell ourselves the story that we have no time,
and we sometimes tell ourselves the story that there's nothing
to do right now and any time fun list helps us.
Real is that neither of those stories has to be true.

(03:03):
We have ideas for fund things we can do to
make the most of our time anytime, so this weekend
and every weekend doesn't come and go without us doing
anything special. So today, spend a few minutes brainstorming ideas
for your any time fun list. My guess is that
those few minutes will pay off in a lot of

(03:26):
fun hours in the meantime. This is Laura, Thanks for listening,
and here's to making the most of our time. Hey, everybody,
