Speaker 1 (00:00):
Dear blog guys, I finally, after years, I made my
big debut at Benny Hat on Friday night. Ril was
my coach. This is a very serious situation that we
had on our hands here because I thought it was
I don't know where I got Ril from. That was afterwards,

(00:20):
we had to I had to celebrate, you know what
I'm saying. I'm a Benny Hats chef now, baby, you
know who was with somebody, somebody in the room that
saw my skills and the Benny Hanna skills. She saw
me do the volcano and was like, hello, yeah, exactly yeah,
And I kept it. I kept I took off everything
but the red hat. I left the red hat on.

Speaker 2 (00:39):
As you said.

Speaker 1 (00:40):
So a few years ago from my birthday, you guys
got me this thing they do a Benny Huna called
be the Chef. This is not an ad, by the way,
like you guys paid for it and for a certain
amount of money.

Speaker 2 (00:48):
I don't even know what it is.

Speaker 1 (00:49):
You can go there and they let you actually cook
the food with the chef, and and there's a few
things I didn't know. So you go there at eleven
o'clock in the morning for a training. Now what I
didn't realize was I here's what I thought.

Speaker 2 (01:04):
I thought.

Speaker 1 (01:04):
I'm ann show up a eleve o'clock. They're gonna be like, okay,
here's how you, you know, flip the shrimp, and like,
I don't know, here's how you bang against the table
and okay, you know, sit down and we'll cook the food.
Oh no, no, no, new I show up, dude.

Speaker 2 (01:18):
Wheel.

Speaker 1 (01:18):
He goes, okay, here's how you wheel it in. Wheel
the cart in. And we had to practice that and
then and then you dodged the whole show. Then you
go sit down and then Alexis does the whole show,
the whole thing, and then he goes, you got it,
and I'm like, do I got I got it?

Speaker 2 (01:34):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (01:35):
He's like, great, your turn, and then he goes around
the other side. He's like, have had it. And then
and then it was like, okay, now, remember you got
to come in and you got to like cross your
arms and say kuni wah, and I am your I
am your chef today, Fred, and are there any allergies?

Speaker 2 (01:50):
It was the whole script.

Speaker 1 (01:51):
And then he's like and then you take the ticket
and you've got to make sure everybody got what they wanted,
and then it was this whole thing and then it
was like remember the debt? Did you hear him when
we were doing the actual thing?

Speaker 2 (02:00):
Do you remember? Do you remember the dad joke? Fred?

Speaker 1 (02:02):
I'm like, oh, oh, low sodium, high sodium, you.

Speaker 2 (02:06):
Know, like you were sinking that pepper shaker.

Speaker 1 (02:09):
Yeah you don't, right, I went like an egg roll
and then I rolled the egg and then and then there.

Speaker 2 (02:13):
Was a thing. Well it went into the little thing.
This was a dream come true.

Speaker 1 (02:21):
And then uh and then Pauline, I did my little trick.
I practiced this for like an hour. This was actually
a very daring trick. Okay, you know how they had
the little ceramic did did you miss this? They had
the little ceramic bulls for the fried rice? Yes? So
this Dude's like, all right, so for one per person
who you choose, you pack it in there really really good,
and weigh it down and you put it on the

(02:42):
spatula and you say do you want this? And then
you flip it in the air over the food and
catch it.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
Oh yeah, I did see.

Speaker 1 (02:50):
And the first several times I did it, Rice just
went and in practice in rehearsal, Rice went everywhere because
like literally everywhere, because if you don't flip it right,
you know, then the rices goes everywhere. I'm like, you
want me to flip ceramic bowls over the food? Like
what if I don't catch it? He goes, well, then
it breaks on everything and we have to like cancel
the night. I'm like, does this sound like something that

(03:12):
somebody should be doing, you know who's never done this before?

Speaker 2 (03:15):
But they let you do everything. Yeah, you thought hope
of the game.

Speaker 1 (03:17):
I thought this was It was like Caitlin texted me,
how's rehearsal? And I was like, this is Caitlyn, this
is not a game.

Speaker 3 (03:24):
Let your food and Sanitation license like you you are qualified.

Speaker 1 (03:28):
Yeah, I honestly think I could. I could with a
little more rehearsal, I could work there. And they told
me to hire.

Speaker 2 (03:33):
Me playing a trick on you because we like made you.
I was like, no, he want like this is something
he wanted.

Speaker 1 (03:37):
No, I wanted to do it. Yeah, it's hard work.
It's very hard work, and it's like hot, it's really hot.
And then when we did the rehearsal, we only cooked
one meal for each of us. He cooked mine, I
cooked his. So then when he didn't take any and
then and then he was like, by the way, everyone
has to order the steak in the shrimp because I
didn't teach you how to make anything else. But then
then people wanted chicken, so he's like that we had

(04:01):
to have a huddle on that. He was like, all right, now,
look I didn't This is very serious. He's like Electus
was like, look, I didn't teach you how to cook
the chicken. Okay, do we just we just cooked the
crap out of the chicken. Okay, just it just we
make sure it's completely cooked.

Speaker 3 (04:13):
Right.

Speaker 1 (04:13):
I'm like this, this is not a game. This was
very very serious. You killed it, thank you, no, and
I appreciate it. And it was a lot of fun.
I recommend it. If you love Benny Hana, you should
go do that. But in a little rehearsal thing, you know,
there was like we And the other thing is that
we did this right out in the middle of the restaurant,
like I thought we would be in a private room.
Oh no, like there were actual other shifts cooking, like

(04:35):
I was in everybody's way. Yeah, because this moron is
over here trying to like, you know, but I did
the little volcano thing and choo choo choo or whatever.

Speaker 2 (04:42):
Heart I did the heartbeat and whatever else.

Speaker 3 (04:46):
Yeah, at the end of the of your shift, you
looked exhausted, like I looked over and like you just
sat down, like as if you just I don't know,
if that your ten kids.

Speaker 1 (04:53):
Yeah, you were like it was it's a lot of work,
it is, and those guys do like seven or eight
times a night, so shout out yeah.

Speaker 2 (04:59):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (05:00):
I know at the end of the little practice because
there was a guy making to go orders on the
one next to me, and there was no one else
in the restaurant, and and I said, hey, would you
hire me? Ha ha HAA goes absolutely not. But anyway,
I think maybe I'm maybe Friday nights, I'll work at
Benny Hanna. I do a couple of shifts. He can
just do a real quick table. No, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (05:21):
I think you got a little bit of work to do.
I'm not going to the food actually taste good.

Speaker 3 (05:27):
Say the food is good, but you got to work
on your distribution of the food.

Speaker 2 (05:30):
I felt like I was short of some rice.

Speaker 3 (05:34):
I felt like you you weren't to want your flipp
and move that I didn't my ricebody at Jason, I'm like,
hen't put enough some cup on that food.

Speaker 2 (05:51):
Here comes Veronica. What's you? What's your alter ego?

Speaker 1 (05:56):
I just went to look at Yelp and there's a
terrible review for Benny on Friday Night from Veronica with
Kiki's pictures. Chef Fred apparently didn't get the job done.
Not of salt and pepper. You know what you can
