Speaker 1 (00:00):
Talked about it.

Speaker 2 (00:02):
Ever been lapt waiting by the phone. It's the Fred Show. Hey, Jonah,
good morning, Welcome to the show.

Speaker 1 (00:08):
How are you?

Speaker 3 (00:09):
Good morning man?

Speaker 4 (00:10):
I'm doing all right?

Speaker 2 (00:12):
Okay, what's going on with this woman, Megan? Because of
course he is waiting by the phone. We're trying to
figure out if you've been ghosted or what we're going
to investigate for you. But tell us the backstory. How
did you meet? I want to hear about any days
you've been on and then where things are now?

Speaker 3 (00:25):
Sure?

Speaker 4 (00:25):
Yeah, well we met at a like like a coffee
shop that we both frequent, you know, on a way
to work and stuff, and so you know, we had
a couple of chances to talk and whatnot. So you know,
I decided to invite her to a baseball game, which
is actually my favorite sport, and you know.

Speaker 3 (00:40):
I thought it was a lot of fun.

Speaker 4 (00:41):
But I never heard back from her. So, you know, honestly,
I never saw that let'd be calling the Fred Show
to be on waiting on the phone. But you know what,
I'm shooting my shot, all right.

Speaker 2 (00:54):
So you like this girl, you know you met out
in the wild too. That's a big deal that you
met out in the wild. As we talk about this
in the dating apps, that's always a crab shoot. You
don't really know what you're getting. You don't know if
there's going to be in person chemistry, you don't know
what's going on, who else they're dating, if they're married,
if they're you know, who knows. There's a million different
things are gonna be happening. But you met in the wild,

(01:15):
and I guess it's still true. You can still meet
somebody who's shady. But you're saying everything went really well
and you were excited.

Speaker 4 (01:21):
I definitely was. And you know, it's one of those
things where you're kind of left out and open, you know.

Speaker 1 (01:28):
To be continued.

Speaker 2 (01:29):
Let's call Meghan. You'll be on the phone at the
same time. We're going to ask these questions and see
if we can figure out what's going on. Hopefully get
you guys set up on another date, whether it's a
baseball game or whatever, and we'll pay for it.

Speaker 1 (01:39):
Okay, cool, let's see what's going on.

Speaker 2 (01:42):
In part two of Waiting by the Phone, all shall
be revealed after Sybrina Carpenter in tew minutes on the
Fread shows Stay right Here, Sabrina carpenter is the Fred Show,
Shelby Shelley one hundred and fifty bucks. You can wait
next in the showdown. Hey Jonah? Yeah, all right, welcome back.
Let's call Megan. You guys met at a coffee shop
that you both frequent you you guys got to talking.

(02:02):
You invited her to a baseball game. You actually did
get to go on the date, but you haven't heard
from her since the date?

Speaker 1 (02:09):
Is that right?

Speaker 2 (02:10):
Yeah, so let's see what's going on. We're gonna call
her right now. Good luck?

Speaker 1 (02:13):
Cool, thank you? Hello? Hi is this Meghan?

Speaker 3 (02:23):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (02:23):
Yeah, this is hey Megan. Good morning. My name is Fred.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
I'm calling for the Fred Show, the Morning radio show,
and I have to tell you that we are on
the radio right now and I do need your permission
to continue with a call. Do you mind if we
chat for just a second on the show?

Speaker 3 (02:35):
Oh my god, Okay, yeah for sure.

Speaker 1 (02:37):
Well don't get too excited just yet. Uh.

Speaker 2 (02:40):
I know, I'll let you down here, but we're calling
on behalf of a guy named Jonah. I guess you
met him at a coffee shop that you guys go
to and went to a baseball game.

Speaker 1 (02:48):
Do you remember him?

Speaker 3 (02:50):
Oh? Yeah, I yes, I remember Jonah.

Speaker 2 (02:53):
Okay, So what happened because he called us and said
that he you know, you guys have met and that
he asked you out and that you went out and
everything went well, he thought, except he can't get ahold
of you since the date.

Speaker 1 (03:05):
So what happened? What's your side of the story.

Speaker 3 (03:07):
Oh, that's that's interesting that he thought it went well. Yeah,
I mean I was. I was very excited for the date.
I guess, like he said, we go to the same
copy stop, and I always thought he was so cute
and I always had like this little crush on him,
and so I was so excited that he invited me
to this game. And but then like during the game,

(03:28):
he was like being so he was seemed like really
distracted and was like just not really paying that much
attention to me. And then like I was like, Okay,
maybe something's off with him or he's in a bad mood.
But then like very casually, he just like said, oh yeah,
Like I'm so glad that you were able to come,
because I invited this girl who I've been trying to
take out for a really long time and she couldn't

(03:50):
make it, so which I'm just like what really like okay,
just like second stirring, I guess like I don't know.
I'm I'm shocked that he wants an other day because
I it was very clear to me that I was planned.

Speaker 2 (04:03):
B Wow, that's nessarily like that's inner monologue stuff.

Speaker 1 (04:08):
You don't see that stuff out loud.

Speaker 4 (04:09):
Now.

Speaker 2 (04:10):
Really, I'm got to mention that Jonah is here. I'm
very forgetful. I'm sorry, Jonah is is on with us. Jonah,
what are you doing?

Speaker 1 (04:18):
You know?

Speaker 4 (04:18):
I I I mean, I was just being honest.

Speaker 2 (04:25):
I mean, I don't understand like sometimes you don't have
to be you know, you don't have to be.

Speaker 4 (04:30):
But you know, look, baseball is my favorites for you know,
it's not exactly the most exciting. But I watched that
like a hawk, you know, and I'm watching every single detail,
all right, and you know, and I just happened to
word vomit. And you know, I mean again, I was
just being brunt and you know, one of those like
off the cuff comments like just you know, not even

(04:51):
thinking about it, just just saying.

Speaker 2 (04:53):
It, okay, and you know, right like right now, like
you're like you're word vomiting right now. Who But who
tell somebody like, how would you feel if she were like, yeah,
I really wanted to go to this with somebody else,
but I guess I'll just take you, Like, how would
you feel about that?

Speaker 4 (05:07):
Well, you know what, that girl, to be completely honest,
that other girl is always busy anyway, So you know
I thought that, you know, going with the other girl.
You know, she seemed like there was some sort of
props back and whatnot.

Speaker 2 (05:22):
Whatever. It's Betty right, my best still talk about the
other girl and how you probably would go out with her,
except she's too busy, So I guess Megan will do.

Speaker 4 (05:32):
You know, I don't see it like that. I really
don't think like that, but okay, go ahead, I.

Speaker 1 (05:38):
Can go ahead. Okay, Ki Ki, will you handle this?
It's the honesty for me.

Speaker 5 (05:43):
You know, if I'm second street, let me know I'm
second straight what And now she can decide what she
wants to go to and you.

Speaker 1 (05:50):
Want to know, you get out of here.

Speaker 5 (05:54):
Teks to the Grammys and you were gonna take Kaitlin
but she can't go, and Paulina don't want to go.

Speaker 1 (06:00):
She booked Bud. If you call me am, I going
to be like, well you offered it to Caylor.

Speaker 5 (06:05):
It's the Grammys.

Speaker 1 (06:06):
I'm going. You bought Kador some shoes. I put them
shoes on I wear. I'm proud.

Speaker 5 (06:12):
My thing is the man was honest. Now she knows
where she stands with him, so girls only use him
for the events that you want to go to.

Speaker 2 (06:19):
And this is ridiculous. You know you would not be okay.
Now we're friends, so maybe you would be okay. But
if I'm trying to date you and I'm like, thank
god you can go, because the other three girls I
asked can go, you'd.

Speaker 1 (06:30):
Be like, screw you. It depends on where we're going,
full of it, whole TikTok out, full of it?

Speaker 4 (06:38):
Right, you depends on the event, like, oh, man, reservations,
fancy dinner, Then I can get a reservation shoe.

Speaker 1 (06:46):
I'll be fourth person in line.

Speaker 6 (06:47):
You know what I'm saying.

Speaker 2 (06:48):
Right also feels only concerned about what's free. He doesn't
care about like feeling she has the advantage now you know,
like Key says, she's got your advantage.

Speaker 1 (06:56):
It's a baseball game.

Speaker 2 (06:58):
But what if she got into the relation not knowing
she was second string off the bed. Nobody ever wants
to know that, and no one deserves to know that.

Speaker 5 (07:07):
And now she does, and she has the advantage if
she wants to go out with this man again.

Speaker 1 (07:10):
He keeping it real right right, and she doesn't. I
cannot believe it will. So how good seeds in the
base mode?

Speaker 2 (07:18):
No, come on, you would not have liked it if
she had told you that. The only reason that you're
there is because somebody else couldn't make it. And not
only that, but you say that and then you double
down on this call. We're trying to fix it, and
you're like, yeah, I mean she is always busy. Unfortunately,
it's like, wow, stop talking about the other girl. You
got a girl, a good one.

Speaker 1 (07:40):
I think so too.

Speaker 4 (07:42):
All. I was trying to say, like you guys said,
I'm being honest and you know, and dating is about
trial and there.

Speaker 1 (07:51):
I think it's.

Speaker 2 (07:53):
No, this is a different kind of honesty. This is
no I mean don't know. Yeah, don't take this out
of context, man, Like people do want honesty and transparency.
What they don't want to do early on is feel
like they are second fiddle. And that's exactly what you did.

Speaker 3 (08:06):
And you can tell them you've got a relationship, you know,
four months ago.

Speaker 1 (08:08):
That's honesty. But don't tell me that I'm your second choice,
because can't go. Look, that's dating. If you're dating, you're dating.
It's implied. You don't have to say it. There's something,
so keep to yourself. I know that's hard for you
to hear, but I know I know.

Speaker 2 (08:22):
You can't say a mean, inconsiderate thing and then go
what but I'm just being honest, Like that doesn't excuse
you might be being honest. That doesn't excuse the way
that it makes somebody feel. In this case, it made
Megan feel lesser than right now.

Speaker 1 (08:34):
That part is true exactly.

Speaker 3 (08:36):
It made me feel like awful.

Speaker 2 (08:38):
It's like, oh, so I wouldn't even be here if
other girl was, you know, not blowing you off.

Speaker 1 (08:44):
That's another thing you lost. Okay, you know what. I
wouldn't have bought the.

Speaker 4 (08:51):
Other girl my favorite player's jersey, so therefore.

Speaker 2 (09:00):
In her size, and then you showed up, so I
guess it'll have to work for you.

Speaker 4 (09:03):
No, I bought it. Yeah, I got it, especially Taylor.

Speaker 1 (09:09):
Actually, did you say the other on it or something?
And like her name is Megan?

Speaker 2 (09:14):
It's like what number is at number two?

Speaker 1 (09:21):
I mean it was my favorite players jersey.

Speaker 3 (09:24):
I bought it for her, you know what I mean?

Speaker 2 (09:26):
Right, Like you were digging yourself out of a hole
and he's not making it better. Is it like in
pro sports where the dude is going to get drafted
until they send him every hat from every team so
that when he gets drafted he can just, you know,
just take the one. Yeah, this is what it sounds like.
It sounds like you've got a jersey for all the
common names, Megan, Lacy, Jamie, you know, just in case.

(09:49):
All right, Megan, do you want to go out with
this guy again? I'll ask the question. I think I
know the answer, But do you want to give them
another shot?

Speaker 3 (09:55):
No?

Speaker 1 (09:55):
Way? No way? All right?

Speaker 2 (09:58):
Well, Jonah, Look, I I appreciate that you want to
be honest. I just think you might want to sort
of rethink where to be honest. And also there's certain
things we don't need to be honest about. Like, look,
I'm sure that a lot of people are now with
somebody forever that they didn't intend to be their first choice.
But you don't have to tell somebody that something that

(10:21):
you didn't see coming worked out better. You don't have
to tell anybody that you keep that one to yourself.
I mean, my wife jest that she would never date me,
but she didn't tell you she was actively trying to
date someone else, right, and deal with you because you
answered the phone.

Speaker 1 (10:37):
She didn't say that.

Speaker 2 (10:38):
All right, So Megan, no second date or not whatever
other date it is and second date, no way, Okay,
it's not gonna work out, man, Megan, thank you for
I mean, yeah.

Speaker 6 (10:49):
Hey, guys, you know, thanks anyway. You know, I'm a
firm believer in the foy didn't slip. You know, sometimes
you just say stuff and you know, all good. You know,
I understand your perspectives. You know, it's all good. That's
what it is.

Speaker 1 (11:05):
Do me a favorite, say, I'll just get back to
work on the other girl.

Speaker 4 (11:09):
Yeah, you know, honestly, I'll just get back to working
the other girl.

Speaker 1 (11:12):
Whatever.

Speaker 2 (11:13):
Yeah, good luck. Yeah, that's totally the right thing to say.

Speaker 1 (11:17):
Here.

Speaker 2 (11:17):
Okay, this dude has learned nothing in the last fifteen minutes, like.

Speaker 1 (11:20):
Free to go to a baseball game. Okay, all right, guys,
thank you, Good luck to both of you, all right,
thank you.

Speaker 6 (11:27):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (11:28):
Thanks.

Speaker 2 (11:28):
The Entertainment Report and Show by Shelley one hundred and
fifty bucks, also a Game Show Wednesday rolls on. Definitely
gonna beat Paulina and Keyki. Karaoke coming up, It's the
