A failure analysis meeting, where 30 top surgeons came together to discuss their biggest catastrophes, was the seed that built the Jacobs Institute for Medical Innovation in Buffalo, New York. The Jacobs Institute (JI) is a multi-disciplinary vascular center that fosters collisions among professionals of different disciplines in order to develop new ideas, technologies and systems.
