Grief fundamentally changes who you are. Even though it can feel like a cloud you can’t get from underneath, grief is an expression of love. It is a representation of how we love a person even after they’re not physically here, it helps us remember the sweet memories of the past and it reveals to us the courage and strength that comes through the hardest times. It’s an experience that you’ll never understand until you go through it. The Robert Jones was a living legend. To know him was to love him and to be better because of it. Through the years, I’ve learned that it’s not that legends never die, unfortunately, they do. It’s that even after they pass, who they are lives on forever through the lives of those they touched while they were here on earth. Knowing that the world will continue to be better because the love that my uncle Robert shared will live forever brings me peace, but doesn’t make it any easier. To the best uncle in the world, the owner of Crowes chicken, the best spot in Troy, rest well! This episode is for you!
