Body dysmorphia, a distressing psychological condition, manifests as a distorted perception of one's appearance. This internal struggle becomes even more prevalent among midlife women, who face unique challenges in a society obsessed with youth and beauty standards. The pressures of ageing, hormonal changes, societal expectations, and the influence of social media intensify the impact of body dysmorphia during this transformative stage of life. I was so excited to interview Penny Ashton - a New Zealand based, self-employed performer, poet, podcaster, writer and wedding celebrant to discuss our unique experiences with body dysmorphia and how we have come to the wonderful conclusion that we have NO F***S LEFT TO GIVE.
