Nicki Minaj Reportedly Takes Her Fiance's Last Name: Get The Details

Word on the street is Nicki Minaj has adapted her beau Kenneth Petty's last name as her own.

On Friday (August 2), TMZ reported that the duo's visit to a Beverly Hills courthouse earlier this week to take out of a marriage license found the pair changing up the 36-year-old rapper's real name. As per the celebrity gossip outlet, the star will be formally known as a Onika Tanya Maraj-Petty. There's no official confirmation about a wedding for the pair, but the outlet has rounded up a few suspect clues. Several of Minaj's close friends allegedly flew into Los Angeles on Tuesday, the day after she and Petty received the marriage license, and stood at two high-end West Hollywood hotels before leaving less than day later.

In case you haven't been following along, Minaj has been referring to Petty as her "husband" for months now, despite going public with the relationship in December 2018, and it's clear that the rapper has found happiness with her beau. "Every night when I get out of the shower, my husband takes this really good lotion that we just bought, and he massages my feet, and rubs them, and he rubs each toe individually, and the heel, and the ball of my foot, and he does it all," she said about her relationship on a radio show in March.

Still, there's plenty of criticism over Petty, considering he's a registered sex offender status. He was previously convicted of first-degree attempted rape in April 1995 and first-degree manslaughter, which he served seven years in prison for.
