Wayne Coyne's Son Stars In 'A Change at Christmas (Say It Isn't So)' Video

“A Change at Christmas (Say It Isn’t So)” may originally appear on The Flaming Lips' 2003 album Ego Tripping at the Gates of Hell, but with extra time on their hands this year, the band decided to update the track and film an accompanying video.

The festive clip shows frontman Wayne Coyne dressed as some sort of green-skinned Santa/king hybrid sitting on a throne with his toddler son Bloom perched on his lap while confetti snow rains down on them.

"this is a song that originally came out in 2005( I think) .. this NEW version began as just a selfie phone video that I was attempting to do with Baby Bloom and I..well.. it kept getting more and more elaborate and now it’s turned into a full fledged re-make with @stevendrozd and @mtekbot... Yay" Coyne wrote on Instagram.

After testing out a space bubble show for their "Assassins of Youth" video, The Flaming Lips planned a slew of concerts where the crowd and band members would all be equipped in giant bubbles. Unfortunately, they were forced to postpone when COVID-19 numbers began to rise in Oklahoma. The shows will hopefully happen at the end of January.
