Swae Lee and Slim Jxmmi have been keeping Rae Sremmurd fans waiting long enough. After spending some time releasing their own music, the rap duo out of Mississippi is planning to make their comeback by releasing their new album this year.

On Tuesday night, March 15, Swae and Jxmmi hopped Instagram Live to discuss their plans for 2022. During their broadcasted conversation, both brothers confirmed that their fourth album Sremm4 is set to drop before the summer begins.

"Album is dropping in May," Swae said. "The album is dropping in May and that's on my f**king pops man. That's on Sullivan n***a."

"The album's f**king dropping in May," Jxmmi replied. "Y'all heard it!"

Rae Sremmurd dropped their previous album SR3MM in 2018 featuring songs like "Powerglide" featuring Juicy J and "Perplexing Pegasus." The project was the official follow-up to their sophomore LP SremmLife 2 and their debut album SremmLife. Since the release of their triple third album, Swae Lee and Slim Jxmmi went on to establish their solo careers. Following Swaecation, Lee went on to collaborate with the likes of Ellie Goulding, Maluma, Nicki Minaj, and, most famously, Post Malone for "Sunflower." After Jxmtro, Slim Jxmmi went on to appear on the Creed II soundtrack executively produced by Mike Will Made-It and also collaborated with Snoop Dogg and Afro B.

Since 2018, rumors had floated around about the duo officially parting ways for good. Fans were especially considered about the duo's future in 2019 when Jxmmi posted some controversial tweets about them. However, Lee put those rumors to rest shortly afterward. Even as their solo careers continued to flourish, Swae and Jxmmi haven't signaled any other issues between them.

Rae Sremmurd intend to drop their new album in May but haven't confirmed the exact release date.
