Tory Lanez is pleading for a new, fair trial after he made some major allegations regarding some of the evidence that was used against him in court.

On Tuesday, April 25, the "Say It" singer uploaded a video of his phone call from jail. In the call, he alleges that the "inconclusive" DNA results that were presented during his trial last year were "incomplete." Lanez explained that his lawyer Jose Baez was able to get experts to retest the sample that was taken from the gun in 2020, and their results were different than the prosecutors.

"@gasconforlada PLEASE put an end to this INJUSTICE… many BLACK AND HISPANIC MINORITIES are falling victim to these same OUTRAGEOUS and DISGUSTING TRICKS and TACTICS," Lanez wrote in his caption while tagging Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascon. "Someone NEEDS to stand up for US! ✊🏼✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿 Everyone PLEASE PRAY that the Honourable Judge David Herriford returns me to FREEDOM and a FAIR trial 🙏🏾"

His latest phone call from jail comes hours after his lawyer informed his Instagram followers that his client had some new revelations about the evidence in his case. According to reporter Meghann Cuniff, everything Lanez said his call stems from his lawyer's motion made on March 29. He released the details on social media ahead of his upcoming hearing where his legal team will argue for a new trial. The defense previously claimed that there were multiple instances in which the prosecution used "irrelevant evidence" in order to persuade the jury to convict Lanez.

They alleged photos of the artist that reveal his gun tattoos were used to emphasize his passion for guns. They also believe Kelsey Harris' 80-minute deposition should not have been played to the jury, especially after Harris recanted the majority of her statement.

His hearing is scheduled for May 8. He currently faces up to 22 years in prison and possible deportation.
