XXXTentacion's revered collaboration with Lil Uzi Vert has finally returned to streaming services.
On Sunday, June 18, X and Uzi's song "I'm Not Human" has officially been released on all digital streaming platforms in honor of the 5th anniversary of the Florida rapper's death. The emotional record made its debut back on January 23, which was X's 25th birthday. The song contains a sample of "Snuff" by Slipknot. Unfortunately, his estate didn't get the clearance for the sample and was forced to take it down. Last Thursday, the manager of X's estate, Solomon Sounds, announced the song's comeback.
"We celebrate the life and legacy of Jah and honor his memory by dropping a song with an artist that he loved. #LLJ," Solomon wrote.
The song arrived not long after justice had been served in the case of XXXTentacion's murder. Back in February, the men accused of killing X, born Jahseh Onfroy, were put on trial four years after they were arrested. Michael Boatwright, Trayvon Newsome and Dedrick Williams were found guilty of first-degree murder and robbery. The fourth man, Robert Allen, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and testified against his co-defendants.
“You finally got justice Jah,” X's mother Cleopatra Bernard wrote in a social post. “I made sure you were present in the room."
“After 5 long years you may finally rest in peace,” Jenesis Sanchez, the mother of X's child, wrote on her Instagram Story. “Gekyume will never get to meet you earthside but it is my job as a mother to ensure I share those special memories with him. Jah was robbed of his life and Geky was robbed of his father. For this, I will never truly have complete peace but justice being served today helps the healing process.”
