Cardi B expressed disappointment in Madonna after the pop icon mentioned her in a recent Instagram Story. The post featured Madonna reflecting on the impact of her highly controversial 1992 coffee table book called Sex.

The book featured photography by the Steven Meisel Studio and Fabien Baron which showed Madonna and models engaged in simulations of sexual acts including sadomasochism.

"30 years ago I published a book called S.E.X. in addition to photos of me baked there were photos of Men kissing Men, Woman kissing Woman [sic.] and Me kissing everyone," she wrote over a black screen. "I also wrote about my sexual fantasies and shared my point of view about sexuality in an ironic way."

Madonna went on to describe how the media treated her after the release of the book. "I spent the next few years being interviewed by narrow-minded people who tried to shame me for empowering myself as a Woman. I was called a whore, a witch, a heretic, and the devil."

Seemingly setting herself up as a martyr, Madonna added, "Now Cardi B can sing about her WAP. Kim Kardashian can grace the cover of any magazine with her naked a-- and Miley Cyrus can come in like a wrecking ball. You're welcome b--ches," with a clown emoji punctuating the rant.

Cardi B, a vocal fan and appreciator of Madonna's contributions to pop culture, felt slighted by being mentioned in a post that called the four women 'b--ches' and included a clown emoji. "I literally payed this woman homage so many times… she can make her point without putting clown emojis and getting slick out the mouth," the rapper said on Twitter.

Luckily, Cardi gave fans an update the following day, saying she and Madonna talked and are on good terms. "I talked to Madonna... It was beautiful... Have a great day and drive safely yall."
