Twenty One Pilots' Josh Dun Encourages Fans To Vote With Shirtless Photo

The 2020 presidential election is almost here, and as November 3 creeps closer musicians are speaking out about the importance of voting. Some are using their platforms to host virtual benefits while others are using humor to get out the word. For Josh Dun, the method was doubling up on what people love to see on their Instagram feeds: thirst traps and dog pics.

"Josh And Jim Pose Shirtless In Hopes To Encourage People To Vote" the Twenty One Pilots drummer wrote alongside a sweaty shirtless picture of himself and his golden retriever Jim on a hike. That's one way to get our attention!

While Dun's being vocal about voting, his bandmate Tyler Joseph recently received backlash for seemingly poking fun of those who post about politics on their social channels.

In a since deleted tweet, the TOP frontman addressed requests made by members of the Skeleton Clique who have implored the band to use its social media platforms to address issues like voting rights and the Black Lives Matter movement.

"you guys keep asking me to use my platforms. feels good to dust these bad boys off," he wrote alongside two photos of the singer donning a pair of white platform sneakers adorned with moons and stars.

Though meant as a joke presumably about being inactive on social media, many Twitter users voiced their disappointment with Joseph for mocking fans' pleas to help spread information and resources.

Joseph later clarified what his intentions were by sharing a number of posts about mental health.
