Drake and 21 Savage have been promoting their upcoming joint album Her Loss with the most hilarious press run ever.
On Wednesday, November 2, both rappers posted a video of themselves in NPR’s studio as if they were preparing to do a Tiny Desk performance. The parody promo clip features Drizzy and the Slaughter Gang leader introducing themselves to a crowd while surrounded by a band. Unfortunately, their Tiny Desk performance won’t debut anytime soon. Even NPR wishes it would happen for real. The outlet responded to their clip with another invite to perform.
“Let’s do it forreal tho 😏👏🏽” NPR tweeted.
Their pump-fake at NPR appears to be another publicity stunt as they prepare to release their long-awaited collaborative project. After they announced the album’s title in their “Jimmy Cooks” video, Drake and 21 Savage began to post content from their faux media run like their Vogue cover. They even posted a video of 21 getting into his bag with Vogue’s logo on it as if it were a real interview. They also got Howard Stern involved when they posted a fake promo clip of a conversation on the shock jock’s show.
The hype for their joint album began when 21 Savage brought out Drake during his set at Morehouse-Spelman’s Homecoming concert. Her Loss was supposed to drop last week following their announcement in the “Jimmy Cooks” video, but Drake and 21 pushed the project back after OVO’s Noah “40” Shebib got sick with COVID. Although the revered producer is recovering well, the delay seems to be working in their favor.
Her Loss drops November 4. Check out another hilarious clips below.
