Desiigner Says He's Quitting Rap In Emotional Rant About Takeoff's Death

Desiigner is planning to leave the rap game.

On Tuesday, November 1, the 25-year-old artist took to social media to react to Takeoff's death just hours after the Migos rapper was shot and killed in Houston. In his teary-eyed video, the "Panda" rapper went into an emotional rage and vented about his desire to quit music altogether.

"Why? Why do we f**king do this? I swear to God, this s**t ain't nothing, I'm done rapping," he said before pointing to his plaque for "Panda." "This version of me is done."

"Y'all took Takeoff, bro," he sobbed. "It's done. Y'all wanted it, it's over. Y'all killed Takeoff...I can't even call [Quavo]. I can't even call Offset. I can't even call none of these n***a. Yo, [DJ] Durel..."

"I'm done. I can't live like this no more," he continued. "R.I.P. [PnB] Rock. R.I.P. Takeoff. R.I.P. Nipsey [Hussle]. R.I.P. Biggie. R.I.P. everybody, bro."

Desiigner got his big break in 2016 with his hit song "Panda." Since then, he was signed to G.O.O.D Music and dropped albums like New English and L.O.D.. Since the top of the year, the Brooklyn native delivered new songs like "Bakin'" and his most recent single "Jaguar."

Desiigner was one of numerous artists who distraught over Takeoff's untimely passing. Throughout the day, rappers that were close to the Migos rapper like Rick Ross, Gucci Mane, and more offered their condolences and expressed how much of an impact Takeoff made. A lot of artists also questioned why we're losing so many to gun violence.

"Another incredibly talented young brother taken from the world too soon," Ross said in an Instagram post. "My heart goes out to Quavo, Offset and the whole QC family. When will this stop? I pray one day we will start to come together instead of continuing to tear ourselves apart.”
